I think Steve Pearson nailed it. We have a lack of hang gliding
instructors and schools somewhat caused by our own policies. Over the years our
organization has made it difficult to become and maintain certification. I
remember when an examiner could hold certification clinics. Our club had...

the failure of the USHPA to stem the bleeding. He says that it has only one
product to sell, membership, and it doesn't have a program for product
development.Publicizing what Steve (and many others) believe should happen at the USHPA is
all fine and good but it doesn't mean...

Larry Bunner has been flying his earlier prototype version for the
last two months and telling me about how much he loves the handling. He pulls on
3/4 VG and forgets to take it off while thermaling. Finally on Thursday I got a
chance to fly the new one myself. As I came off the cart the glider felt "big." I had 1/3 VG on (as usual)...

Clouds looked fantastic today, but one could see a strong wind

work with volunteer Mitch Shipley on the Tow Device Supplement Applications, but
then he lives at Wilotree Park part time. I send our competition results in to
volunteer David Wheeler. Volunteer Jamie...

started with a pretty strong inversion, so pilots were playing launch potatoes
and waiting for the weather to improve for quite some time. Open class had a 106

We didn't witness it. From speaking with pilots who did, the pilot
had a good angle of attack on the cart and launched off the cart well. The pilot
was a little above the tow plane, but this is fairly normal. I'm usually above
the tug when I come off the cart. The pilot was flying straight then drifted off to the right. Then a wing came up...
