So last Friday I went around Quest Air and did a pictorial survey
to see what percentage of gliders setup on on their control bars were equipped
with wheels. Here's what I saw:

Click on the collage above for a bigger version. Lots of wheels and lots of
different wheels. I didn't take pictures of the tandem gliders. Now, wheels are
probably a good idea here at Quest and in Florida in general as there are lots
of nice firmly packed grass landing fields which accommodate wheels landings
easily. Mike Barber flies here and normally flies with wheels on his carbon
fiber control bar.
