Clutching a picture of Mr. Baker who died in a hang-gliding
incident in Hawaii in 1975 his first cult wife (two previous real-world wives
were abandoned) seems tragically marked by his psychoses, and the films final
scenes confirm that some of his flock have emerged more whole than others.

At the end of 1974, the Source Family sold their restaurant and
moved to Hawaii. On August 25, 1975, despite having no previous hang-gliding
experience, YaHoWha used a hang glider to leap off a 1300-foot cliff on the
eastern shore of Oahu.[6] He successfully flew his kite but crash-landed on the
beach and died nine hours later.[6] After three days of vigil, YaHoWha was
cremated.
