Just about 5 km northeast of Souther Field is a beautiful grass RC
flying field that hosts one of the largest remote control fly-in’s in the
country. This private field is the home of Hodges Hobbies (with a huge shop full
of RC toys, if you’re interested). The owner, Mac Hodges, has invited us to use
the facility during the competition for camping. There is a huge grassy area for
tent camping along with full hook-ups for RV’s. They have a nice big
shower/bathroom block as well. RV hookups are $20/night and tent camping is
$10/night.
