Fun at Beechmont
Story
here.
The male hang glider pilot and female paraglider pilot crashed
into each other about 11.35am at Beechmont.
They landed in separate trees in thick forest on the side of a steep cliff,
tangled by ropes and lines about 20m above the ground.
Specialist firefighters took about two hours to free the pair in what was
described as a 'very tricky' rescue.

It's pretty clear that somehow the hang glider pilot never saw the
paraglider, possibly cause there were so many in the air and he was just looking
somewhere else other than where he should have been. I talked to the hang glider pilot.
He said he was just getting prepared to top land, so possibly was unzipping
harness, etc. He told me he just turned towards the top landing and boom next
thing he knew he was head on into a paraglider and only realized at the last
second.
Quite amazing that they both survived. She did not get a chute out, but he did, and she
was tangled to him so they came down under a very small Aeros Chute.
