The 2013 Canadian Paragliding Championships start in 10 days! The
recent local weather has been great and is forecast to remain so for at least
the next week. A few days ago pilots flew 70+km cross country's over the flats. For the serious competitor, the comp now has FAI Cat 2 sanctioning as well as
being an HPAC Cat "A" comp, eligible for WPRS and NTSS points as well as PWC
letters. For those less interested in such things, this is your chance to fly a
new site and hone your flatland flying skills, as well as learn flying tips and
tricks from the pros. Eric has been very busy preparing for these Nationals and everything is almost
ready to go! So far 30 pilots registered with several US and international
pilots showing up. He has arranged for free camping in the LZ; for those wishing
to stay in motels he's got a couple of recommendations on the website
https://www.sites.google.com/site/2013pgnats/home. There is also a Facebook page set up at
https://www.facebook.com/groups/117015208322137/. In the event of cancelled days, non-flying activities include beach time at Mt.
Orford National park, cultural/foodie trips to Montreal, and wine tours of local
vineyards. Some yummy photos of the flying, courtesy of Dom, our HPAC prez and Yamaska
local, can be found at
