To Fly My Way Out of Here!

This flight was on June 16, 2012, from 5,200' Crestline launch heading East
along the back ridge about 14 miles and turning back just shy of 7,800' Keller
Peak once it appeared the day had shut down and began to flush somewhat. What
happens next is best experienced by simply watching the video. It took me a long
time before I came up with an edit that I felt conveyed the experience
effectively. Track log
here.
How Wild Was That?

This video of last Saturday's flight illustrates what's it's like to work the
leading edge of rain cells and to outrun or to surf the top of a gust front. I'm
certainly not doing anything new here and frankly, my piloting is not very
aggressive either but I do capture this kind of experience on video so that
others can enjoy it vicariously. I must caution more sensitive viewers that the
live audio is uncensored.
The stress begins hours before the actual flight as I decline to launch from
Elsinore and stand there in high temperatures and warm clothes and watch as my
friend gets off the hill and climbs out.
