Aeros glider cross bar replacement

My left cross bar failed the test, and Aeros is replacing both
bars for free. The test is safe and a good bar can bear a torque of almost 50
kgm, so testing them with 15 kgm is not harmful for the crossbar. It is clearly
destructive for a defective bar, for 15kgm is a great torque and causes a huge
stress for the section's shape. I have flown my wing for almost 200 hours in every condition, even comps and
full bore glides in rough air. Maybe I could've flown that cross bar for other
1000 hours and nothing would've happened. I am glad to have had my Combats
checked (yeah, I've got two sizes) and I fully trust the company. I also think that if we could check every carbon cross bar or LE of every carbon
hot ship of every brand we could find similar issues but that's only personal
speculation. Hang gliding is a poor sport where every machine is hand made, or anyway, the
human workmanship is still a big part of the picture. This is a bad issue for
their cross bar dealer, and it's a shame it caused those accidents, and maybe a
loss in image. Aeros makes a wider range of aircraft than other brands, and
most of its staff comes from Antonov Industries, so c'mon.
