Still remembers

In the 5+ years I've been flying Crestline, this is the only time
I have encountered orthographic cloud formation where the dew-point was well
below the top of the lift. This flight was on a chilly April 28, 2010, and I
only came out to fly in order to get together with three visiting pilots from
Utah: Ryan, Cal and Shadd. Otherwise I would have missed this amazing day and
probably stayed indoors.
It has taken me over 3 years to compose an edit from the footage that I thought
really captured the experience. I suggest watching in 1080p full screen w/
stereo, but it will play on a mobile device too.

Note: For the regulation and safety wary among us: AFAIK all of the close
proximity scenes were within 1200' AGL in Class G airspace. At the 2:00 mark I
am drifting backwards at 6-7mph and thinking the opposite as indicated by my GPS
ground speed and the illusion from cloud drift and laminar winds of around
30mph. At 2:30 the clouds below me open up and then I notice I am 1/4-mile
behind the spine of the ridge. Off-camera, I check the GPS map screen to see my
meandering, saw tooth path relative to the terrain as I gradually work my way
out front.
