2014 Annecy FAI World Hang Gliding Championships
The CIVL Plenary did not vote to limit participation to pilots
who had flown in Sport Class competitions

In the newly formed Sport Class, anything could happen. Will the
top pilots from Class 1 compete? Or will they leave it to those who specialise
in these lower performance wings? If the first case holds, then Mario Alonzi and
Pietro Zin, no strangers to the podium, could be strong contenders. In any case,
the current French Sport Class champion, Fabien Garing, will be defending his
position! Real time observation via live-tracking allows us to see the position of pilots
on the course, and to estimate their arrival at goal. A commentator will be on
site at the goal field to announce the incoming pilots. Other entertainments are
planned at Doussard: hang glider winch launch demonstrations, hang glider flight
simulators.
Stephane Malbos writes:
On behalf of the organizing committee, please find here the Press
Pack of the 2014 FAI World Hang Gliding Championships in Annecy, France, next
June and July. There are only 20 days left for pilots registration. Not many of
them have registered and none of the NACs or federation have send us their
"official" list yet. Please be aware that after the 5th of April deadline, no
new entries will be accepted. All pilots have to be registered by then. Registration is at: - Class Sport - http://airtribune.com/fr/sport-hg2014 - Class 1 Women -
http://airtribune.com/fr/women-class1-hg2014 - Class 2 - http://airtribune.com/fr/class2-hg2014 - Class 5 - http://airtribune.com/fr/class5-hg2014
I think that the display is actually delayed by a few minutes to
keep competitors from using the information about other competitors.
