The winds seemed to change directions through out the day. Cu's
formed early and low with complete cloud cover early that slowly broke up as the
cloud base rose. Morning started with a tandem clinic with some pilots in
training to become tandem pilots and others getting their aerotow sign offs.

By afternoon the cu's looked completely friendly and the rest of the flight park
flyers were quickly hauled into the air. I got off low once again in weak lift,
but slowly worked it up until it turned on to 500 fpm. I quickly headed south
toward Wallaby and found first light then good lift under just the best looking
clouds.

It was easy to get over toward Wallaby and just keep escaping the clouds at
base. I decided to turn around after having Wallaby on a 9:1 glide. It required
a 1,800' low save over the glider port, but it was not a problem to get back to
Quest for a late afternoon landing.
