Saturday at Quest Air
The cu's showed up again like on Friday and quite frankly it is a
lot better here when there are cu's rather than an inversion and blue sky. There
was also high clouds from the north that crept south just over Quest and then
retreated. I pinned off at 1,000' at 1:30 PM and got up right away to almost 4,000' before
heading south to the turnpoint at Dean Still and 33. The wind was west southwest
at about 9 mph, so I wasn't super fast. The cu's worked on the southwest corners
and I found 600 fpm under at least one if not more. South of the Seminole airport I could see the higher clouds coming in so decided
to turn back before making the turnpoint, but that turned out not to be needed
as there was plenty of lift on the way back. Cu's are just so much more fun to fly in. Should be good after a morning fog on Sunday. Looks like a chance of rain on
Monday and 60% chance on Tuesday.
