I had the opportunity to "speak" with a member of the French Sport
Class team going to the Worlds. One of the things that we "discussed" was the
state of French hang gilding instruction and the use of king posted gliders in
France. He stated that in France pilots go very quickly from training to topless
gliders unlike in the US where we lay out a staged approached from single
surface to easy double surface to intermediate double surface to topless.

Perhaps this explains something about the French approach to the 2014 Sport
Class Worlds.
