The wind was a lot stronger than yesterday, up to 38km/h in gusts
on take off, and up to almost 40km/h at the goal field in Doussard. Only 5 class
2 gliders had been towed up when the towing pilots refused to do any more tows,
because it got too turbulent and windy in the goal field where they also do the
towing. A clear sign for our safety committees to talk to Richard and safety
director Raymond. High wind speeds in the mountains is no fun, I saw that when I
landed yesterday.
This would explain why Brian Porter never got out of the LZ.
