Wifi for your Flytec 6030

Charlie Allen turned me on to a SD card with built in WiFi. He has
been using it in his 6030 and I have also started using it in mine as well.

The SD card has a built in WiFI so you can transfer your track logs form the SD
card to your smart phone via and app. The nice thing is that that for phones
without micro SD slots (or ones that are hard to get to) you can still transfer
your track log and email it for scoring on the ride home.

As far as I know the 6030 just recognizes it as a regular SD card.

The actual purpose for the the WiFi SD card is for digital cameras so you can
transfer pics from a camera to other devices wirelessly. Because of this some
cards and their corresponding apps only recognize JPEG. The flashair by toshiba
will recognize all files and transfer them. The only glitch so far is that it
renames the .IGC files to .TXT (extensions), but that seems to be no problem as
I just rename the file to IGC when I rename the file with my name it so the
score program scores the flight for me. Then email it to the scoring email
address.

The WiFi transmitter shuts off after 5 minutes of non use so it doesn't rundown
the 6030 battery.

You can find the card
here.

Here is a 16 GB version.

Works in your GoPro camera also (tested it in my Hero HD). Doesn't replace the
GoPro BacPac.

Product info and manuals
here. You'll want a manual on your computer as the print is way too small on
the paper manual included with the SD card.
