Raising money for the Rainbow Room with help from the Cloudbase
Foundation

At Big Spring, from the Calcutta and donations, we raised $2,067
for the Rainbow Room. I presented the Howard County Child Welfare Board with a
check for $1,867 and will send them another $200 I got in cash after the
presentation.

A check from the Cloudbase Foundation made out to the Howard County Child
Welfare Board for the $1,000 matching money will be sent out very soon.

So altogether, we will be giving $3,267 to the Rainbow Room.

There is also a check for $150 from HHPA in memory of Bud Wruck behalf of
Rainbow room.

As far as I know the pilots at the Big Spring Nationals, the HHPA and Cloudbase
Foundation are the only source of funding for the Rainbow Room. I spoke with the
Life section editor at the local paper about our project, so she may help to
publicize the Rainbow Room and get them more help (I also talk about it on the
radio, at Rotary meetings, and when I can get through to the newspapers). So our
efforts bring not only cash, but (I hope) much-needed awareness of the need in
the community. Big Spring is in the throes of radical change due to the oil
boom, and the people flooding into the county bring plenty of everything - good
and bad. The area really benefits from our contribution.
