Terry Reynolds

Chris Reynolds writes:

Six weeks ago we were in Casa Grande, Arizona. Terry was competing
in the Santa Cruz Flats Race. He had been feeling fatigued and weak and was
wondering if this was what 67 years old was supposed to feel like. His symptoms
began progressing rapidly about two and a half weeks ago when his feet and hands
stopped working and he could not sit up, much less walk.

Long story short, after MRIs on brain, neck and spine and multiple blood tests,
with scary possible diagnosis, a spinal tap revealed he has Guillain-Barre
Syndrome, a rare non-contagious virus that can be treated, but not cured. He
will recover, but it may take months. He has been in the hospital in Louisville,
Colorado since Tuesday. They are making him as comfortable as possible while he
receives 5 IVIG treatments to stop the progress, though it has to run its
course.

We are expecting to move to Boulder to a rehab center where he will have to work
hard to get his strength back. If you know Terry, you know he will grab the bull
by the horns and wrestle it down. Dinosaur 2015 is still on!
