Two death notices
An instructor and a pilot die in separate non flying
related incidents
Kim Frutiger writes:
Our community lost a very beloved and amazing soul yesterday. Kit
Martin perished in a snow board accident. Kit was responsible for teaching some
of our best pilots to take life by the horns and ride it hard. He sent many of
his friends and students to Quest for thermal instruction. They were directly
impacted by his care. Cory Barnwell, our current Sport Class number one ranked pilot, was one those
that Kit mentored in early days, brought to us because Kit recognized his light,
his passion. Kit was like that. He wanted to see and encourage his friends,
students, dear souls to him, soar the sky in freedom and peace the way he did.
Kit was a remarkable soul and we feel the loss of his gentle yet passionate
spirit deeply.
Warren Puckett writes:
Just got home from the pharmacy and found out that an old flying
buddy Kit Martin was killed today snowboarding in Colorado. He's the one in the
center with the red pullover. He learned to fly in Texas and was a local pilot
for awhile. He moved to New York and Chattanooga becoming a hang gliding
instructor.

Lost one of life's true giants yesterday in a snow boarding
accident. Kit, you were an incredible mentor, so warm and generous with your
support and encouragement as I learned to fly, wicked great fun wrapped in
boundless enthusiasm.

I have bad news for the hang gliding community, my friend Mark
Salesse was killed while ice climbing the Polar Circus route in an avalanche a
few days ago. Mark had a passion for life that few others have and our hearts go
out to his family and friends, he will be sorely missed by all of us. http://calgaryherald.com/news/local-news/family-grieves-missing-ice-climber-who-was-on-canadian-forces-training-exercise Family mourns missing ice climber who was on Canadian Forces training exercise BANFF The mother of a Canadian Forces member who has been missing since he was
