Launches are by ramp E/NE over town of Vraca, 700 m over a vast
landing field, close to a motorway and a gas station with restaurant. Asphalt
road to launch. 2013s BG nationals had one 100 km triangle task from there and 5
pilots completed it.
Pastrina is a site outside Montana 400 m long ridge, the best for W/NW wind
always associated with cold fronts. Flat lands in front and behind for long
tasks.
Kom is the highest E/SE 1300 m over Berkovica.
Back side of Vraca mountain has a SW launch which we have rarely used.
Landing fields are large to enormous due to cooperative agriculture during
communism. Middle of July the wheat is harvested and there is plenty of landings
with no vegetation on. Retrieval is no problem as there is an old net of roads.
GSM net is good and in case, there is a helicopter help available if needed.
Accommodation is excellent and affordable
