There are no ratings or expiration date on the card. Instead there is one of
those new-fangled ‘square’ bar codes on the back. They are called QR codes.
Anyway, if you scan the code it takes you directly to the USHPA website with
your name expiration and ratings. I have a bar code scanner app on the phone and
I tried it. Pretty cool!

You get your gear together and suit up to get to the flight line. Hanging
somewhere convenient on your harness is your USHPA ‘key tag’. The flight park
“staffer” working the launch line to help you get off, scans your tag with their
phone scanner. This is tied to an APP which instantly verifies that you are
qualified to launch and your insurance and waivers are in effect. It also makes
their record of your launch which you can pay for later or which is debited from
your prepaid launch tickets, or which is automatically deducted from your linked
in credit card.

Disneyland is just awaiting more pilots.
