Hang dived

I may not be wingsuit material, but I have donned a real wing and
glidden a time or two. Its a part of my life I look back on fondly. Way fondly.
And way back. Far enough back that the Moyes Delta Wing logo still looked like
the one on Frazzs shirt.
Its amazing the number of the things I learned then that make life better
today. A lot of it is technical stuff, like a feel not just knowledge, but a
feel for how aerodynamics and fluid dynamics work, how balance works, how
weather works, how everything works better when smooth, and how smooth works so
much better when you think a few steps ahead. A lot of it is kind of groovy
stuff, like awareness and mindfulness and appreciation for limits both real and
false. And that flying is just plain cool. A salute here to Dave Braddock, who
taught all that to a 17-year-old spazz (especially the cool part; lordy, did I
look up to him) and still comes by to visit the Frazz page every now and then.
And will be one of the few people who look at the logo on Frazzs shirt today
and don't wonder what on earth its supposed to be.
Thanks to Jonathan Dietch.
