Wednesday Robin Hamilton shattered our Wharton / Cowboy Up site
record by flying a whopping 221 miles from Wharton, Texas to just east of Tyler,
Texas. This just might be the longest flight in Texas outside of Zapata.

Robin's seven hour flight on his Lightspeed RS was by no means a "gimme" -
getting down to 500 feet at one point. (We hope there is an article forthcoming
- hint hint).

In the weeks previous other pilots, including Robin have had great flights
between 100-132 miles from Wharton. Robin's flight yesterday was during an event
sponsored by Cowboy Up Hang Gliding on Wednesdays - we call it XCWed (XC
Wednesday). XCWed is an organize cross country flying event (aerotowing) every
Wednesday from our site in Wharton, TX and Cowboy Up provides retrieval.

Hopefully this wonderful weather is a prelude great flying at the Big Spring
Nationals. The flying conditions are definitely switched on Texas now.

In any event, "WELL DONE" to Robin for such a great flight.

The longest called and made task in any hang gliding competition
is the task of 215 miles flown on a completely blue day in Big Spring, Texas.
