Yesterday was a long and terrifying day in the Chelan Valley due
to the fires that were ignited by lightning strikes early Friday morning in
several locations that included the Chelan Butte, Slide Ridge, First Creek
Drainage, Antoine Creek Drainage, and Deer Mountain.

The PUD has reopened Beebe Park to visitors. An evacuation was made last night
when the fire jumped the Columbia River and headed up McNeil Canyon. Both Chelan
Falls Park and Powerhouse Park remain closed to the public.
