It's nice to see this really kicking into gear. I was the one who got this whole
ball rolling back in the early 90's. Credit for the impetus going to Ian Jarman,
HGFA Administrator at the time thanks to this quote:
"International Standardization should be a CIVL / FAI goal. Reinventing
something that already exists to an acceptable standard is a waste of our
already scant time and manpower resources."
