Of course, ICD10 has nothing to do with Obamacare; that's a totally different
debate. The codes list itself has been complete since 1992 and I'm not even sure
he was born in the US yet. Oh wait, that's an even *different* debate :)

My wife has worked as a software engineering director for several large EMR
(Electronic Medical Records) vendors since 2001 and keeping up with these new
ICD codes is the bane of their existence. The change to ICD10 has driven huge
projects to implement and test: hiring engineers, QA, doctors on staff to advise
workflow, so, at least in *that* regard, this has sure created a lot of
high-tech jobs over the past five years while every software vendor updates
their EMR to handle the new codes. It's been fascinating to watch, and neat to
see the public opinion on what I've had an inside view of for quite awhile just
looking over her shoulder.

Anyway, great cartoon showing how ridiculous some of these codes are, but you
eventually would have them forced on you regardless of where you get your
insurance. It's just very convenient to blame Obama for everything.
