The paragliding World record returns to Brazil, with a 513km
straight distance fly made by 3 Brazilian pilots at same time in more than 11
hours in the air.
And hang gliding has a new South American record of 580km made by Glauco Pinto,
also a Brazilian pilot.

All pilots took off from Tacima, a small city located near Natal, Rio Grande do
Norte, in the northeast shore of Brazil. The takeoff has less than 150 meter
altitude, but strong "alísios east winds" blows all day and night on spring
season pushing XC pilots to west. The thermal conditions begin early at 7AM and
pilots can fly until 6PM almost every day.
On this route, pilots fly over Quixada (Ceará) after 400km fly and connect to
Quixada route in the evening.
