USHPA accident reporting system
Mark Forbes writes:
One thing we've just finished recently is a new accident reporting
system. Unlike the past system which was vulnerable to legal discovery, the new
system is part of a federally-licensed research study. That federal license
restricts access to the data, and protects it from legal discovery so it can't
be used against us. Our accident investigation team has undergone training and
certification under the license to have access to the reports, and they can
summarize the data and present it in anonymized fashion for the benefit of our
members. It's taken several years to get the license in place and build the
database infrastructure that supports it, but it's up and running now. Check it
out here: https://airs.ushpa.aero/ If you want to play around with it, there's a beta version that's not "live"
which you can experiment on. Please use that one, not the real thing, if you
want to play. Those reports are deleted periodically, so you can go through it
and see how it all works without messing with the real database. https://beta.harare-airs.hgx.us/
