I have seen notices about a few deaths on the internet caused by pilots who fly
these old and inappropriate gliders. These deaths are the bane of our sport. How
many in the public still think hang gliding is deadly foolishness and somewhat

It is the training and information that new pilots need to avoid these
fatalities. I usually contact the sellers with a caution and  request they
get in touch with the national authority for up to date information.

We want new pilots to progress to the next level safely and build up our numbers
of flying brothers. I'm sure you'll agree there are many hidden traps for new
players and we want them to enjoy the wonderful experience that hang glding is
as I have been since 1983.

I recommend all Hang Gliding Groups consider some pro active way to prevent
these old outdated un-airworthy death traps and have them recycled or taken off
the market

Hi there,

I would like to advise you that this glider is very old, an early 80's design,
and is not considered airworthy. There is usually hidden corrosion in the wires
and tubing that could cause a fatality from its structural failure in the air.
Also, it is not worth the aluminum it is made of.

Having witnessed some unfortunates break themselves up and die in old gliders, I
pass this info on to you for the benefit of any buyer. I recommend contacting
the HGFA , http://www.hgfa.asn.au/ for more information about learning to fly safely
with up to date gear.
