On February 20th, Dan McManus (my dad) experienced a life
threatening paragliding accident. He is currently going through multiple
surgeries and doctors and nurses are working hard to try to save his life. There
is no doubt that the medical expenses will be tremendous and Hildegard (his
wife) can use all the help she can get.

Dan does not currently have medical insurance.

For an update on Dan: He is hanging in there. He had a 6th surgery today that
went really well. He is having dialysis to keep the toxins out of his body, and
reduce the amount of fluids in his system because his kidneys are just not able
to handle everything on their own. We got to speak with the orthopedic surgeon
today who gave us promising news. His legs, foot, and pelvis should all be
repairable, and he will be able to walk again if everything goes well. This will
still be an injury that will definitely impact the rest of his life. Right now
they are focusing on repairing his stomach, managing his blood pressure and
pain, and getting his lung muscles strong enough to breath on his own so they
can get him off of the ventilator. Tomorrow will be another resting day.
