Thanks for being disorganized
Thanks so much to those of you who are not going to make the March
11th (Friday, today) deadline for getting in your filled out waivers and making
your entry fee payment for the Spring meets at Quest Air.

We appreciate the extra fee income that will help all the pilots enjoy a more
luxurious dinner, the helpers get a little bit more monetary recognition, the
winners get perhaps a bit more reward, the facilities get in a bit better shape,
and help us make sure that we balance our budget. We attempt to get no profit
from the meets, but it is always hard to come out at exactly zero. Any extra
money goes to the Cloudbase Foundation, but we really try to spend all the money
on pilot services.
We were the first to start this progressive payment schedule with entry fee
rates increasing as we got closer to the start of the competition going up by
50% on the day before the meets begin. Others have now followed our example. We
do this to help make check in much much easier on pilots and out staff (Belinda
and her helpers). In fact we don't even call it registration any more, assuming
that you've already registered and all we are checking for is to be sure you get
your tee-shirt and other goodies. We've already checked your hang rating on
line.
We have to schedule tugs and tug pilots and frankly that is difficult and
expensive. We use the entry fee escalation as a method of smoothing out any
bumps in that process. Russell and Lori appreciate that.
Come on down and enjoy that great Florida air. Don't wait until you really have
to pay big time.
