While at the Weather Channel last week, filming segments about the
atmospheric physics behind gliding flight, something extra. This is a promo
piece about a theory addressing the "missing link" in tornado genesis which I
propounded to some of their top meteorologists, including Dr. Marshall Shepherd,
past President of the American Meteorological Association and host of "Weather
Geeks". In the past two decades much has been discovered and learned about the
formation of tornadoes with a resulting rise in the fidelity of warnings and the
saving of lives. However, a significant puzzle remains and they think this
theory might provide some important answers.
