These past months, we have been working hard with Digifly Europe
in order to get things started with Digifly USA. For us to be ready with this
project, since the US is such an important market, we had to evolve and improve
in many different aspects starting with the production line, the distribution
network and possibilities. While personally quite important, taking advantage of
the European season to work on the software and test the changes which will
improve and complete the Digifly AIR. Let me tell you what I like: 1st - Its reliability The instrument does not jam in flight. It has not produced
any strange tracklogs or problems with track points. I have not lost coverage or
missed any turnpoints. Even so, the instrument is programmed so that if needed,
you can reset it in flight and not to lose the flight recording, the waypoints,
routes, anything. It would just turn back on and keep navigating and recording.
I also like not having to be afraid of updating the firmware. 2nd - I love its navigation system and info display! It is always giving me the
real time optimized route. It gives me all the useful information that I need,
of the optimized and non-optimized route- both in graphic and digital formats. 3rd- Instrument tuning: it's not just the fact of having 12 pages to play with,
creating your own screens, but also how easy it is to do so and how easy it is
to adjust your instruments settings as well. Then you can have all his info
(pages and settings) on a file and share it with your friends or upload them on
another instrument! Plus, updating the firmware will not affect my settings. 4th - Bluetooth: I love that it works and I can use it for several things
including sending the telemetry from the instrument's sensors in real time to
other devices. I am loving flying with XC Soar on my phone on the other side of
the speed bar. 5th - Hardware: latest technology sensors (including an integrated anemometer -
pitot system - which works from 11.2mph, ideal for paragliders too), more
battery, more memory and even its Italian design, weighing only 6.35oz and just
0.79in thick! 6th - Its price! In this aspect, we will do our best to keep it as affordable as
possible! I think this could be the summary of what I like about the Digifly AIR.Thanks
for keeping our community informed and up to date! See you soon at the Santa Cruz Flats Race!
