The local government entities of Moffat and Rio Blanco counties, and the towns
of Dinosaur and Rangely, have put up $20,000 to subsidize the event. In
addition, there is the reliable promise of a great deal of volunteer support,
discounts on everything, cash and other prizes. It would be hard to imagine
stronger community support. They so much have hoped to start drawing the large
groups that used to come fly here at major competitions and the small groups who
came just to experience "Dinosaur." They are bummed that I am not able to do the
organizing for 2017.

My plan was to have a sanctioned US National Championship series competition and
include at the same time less formal competitions and awards.  An open
distance competition for those pilots who wanted that, awards for climbs to
17,999', fastest 5,000' gain, fastest 10,000' gains, daily goals in the
sponsoring communities, and more.

The subsidy and volunteer support, including mine, are still available, but I am
not aware of anyone who can and take this opportunity and run with it. It is
already 90% organized. I would sell the organizing entity, the Rocky Mountain
Glider Company, LLC, which among other things is already permitted with the BLM,
to the organizer for $1. It would have to be someone I can absolutely vouch for.
