My thoughts re Tom's track log at goal
Here is the entry on the track log. There is no entry for 47
seconds, just 46 and 48 (every two seconds):
B1854461547705S04752734WA010590108400109060000-02-08-04
1059 meters is the pressure altitude
1084 is the GPS altitude
Looking at this later entry:
B1908401547692S04752667WA010550108300109990000-01-03-09
1055 meters is the pressure altitude
1083 is the GPS altitude.
Looking at the map through SeeYou the landing area where Tom broke down was
3,559.3' or 1,084.9 meters. So it appears that his GPS altitude on his SensBox
track log was correct.
His pressure altitude where he is breaking down adjusted by SeeYou is 3,638' or 1,109 meters. His GPS altitude is 3,556' or 1,083 meters.
This would suggest that his adjusted pressure altitude is off by 26 meters, too high. I'm calculating his highest altitude at 9,209' or 2,807 meters.
Subtracting 26 meters from 2,807 gives me 2,781 meters or 6 meters above the
maximum height.
Pressure changes over time and the pressure altitude at launch time is not the same as that later in the day.
