Trouble south of the border
https://www.change.org/p/president-of-civl-mexican-nac-should-be-investigated-by-fai-for-violation-of-statutes-against-local-pilots
We would like to make a formal complaint to F.A.I. in behalf of
the Mexican paraglider and hang glider pilots.
Mexican NAC (FEMEDA) and president José Peña Buenrostro should be investigated
considering a great number of Mexican pilots and international events involved
in what we believe is a violation of F.A.I. statutes:
- NACs are bound to pursue, continuously, the aims and objectives of F.A.I. in
their own countries (Statutes 2.4..2.2.9)-
- To bring together the air sports men and women of the world in international
competition (Statutes 1.2.3.)-
The main reason of this complaint is that paragliding and hang gliding pilots
have been informed by the Mexican NAC (FEMEDA) that they have no money to pay
the F.A.I. annual fee, so that pilots and each Mexican Airsports Associations
have to pay the F.A.I. annual fee (4,000 euros) otherwise all F.A.I. Sporting
Licenses will not be issued and actual ones will be canceled, F.A.I. pilot
competition points not be granted, and all F.A.I. (CAT2 / CAT1) Mexican
competition will be cancelled or may not be performed.
This is a flagrant aggression to the flying community from an organization
supposed to develop the aeronautics sports in the country under proper
management and direction.
We ask for a formal supervision of the local NAC conducted by F.A.I., including
conversations with the diferent sports members, in order to restore the real
purpose of the local NAC, canceling the actual NAC or forcing them to assume
their duties of service and commitment to the flying community.
It is not quite clear to me what is going on here (and there are
additional complaints found here from Miguel Guitierrez), so perhaps I will get
some answers from them (and report on them in the Oz Report).
