Re: the trouble in Mexico
https://www.change.org/p/president-of-civl-mexican-nac-should-be-investigated-by-fai-for-violation-of-statutes-against-local-pilots
I would like to ask for clarifications of this petition (which I have signed) as
well as the issues that Miguel raises in his extended post at that change.org
site.
1) Where does the money for the FAI annual fee come from? Pilots? The
government? Others?
2) If the Mexican NAC doesn't pay this fee, is it the case that each association
has to pay the same fee, and could not the associations just band together, give
the Mexican NAC a portion of the $4,000 to pay the fee? Why have they not done
this? What is the reason that the NAC is not paying the fee?
3) Why has the Mexican NAC not been scrupulous in providing FAI licenses? They
are automatic in the US if you ask for them and join the NAC for a low cost.
4) Why has the NAC been involved in hang gliding and paragliding certification
programs? In the US the NAC (NAI) is not involved in this, only the USHPA.
5) What does the 4th point in Miguel's post mean?
6) What is the issue with the 5th point? How are the costs of drug testing
handled in other countries?
7) Category 1 meet organizers in the US have not been obligated to pay for the
USHPA representatives to CIVL. Why this the case in Mexico?
8) What does suspension from the Mexican NAC mean?
9) How has the Mexican NAC insulted Steph?
10) Can CIVL/FAI actually do any investigating and actually do anything?
