The forecast was correct (we knew three days in advance):

NWS forecast: Sunny, with a high near 89. Windy, with a southwest wind 10 to 15
mph increasing to 20 to 25 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 40
mph.

Hourly shows southwest surface winds at 21 mph at noon gusting to 31 mph, rising
to 24 mph gusting to 38 mph at 3 PM then slowly decreasing. Forecast for 8 AM –
10 mph.
