Christian Maurer got stuck just before the fifth turnpoint in stable air and was
unable to scratch up over the top to get the turnpoint. He had to land on the
hillside and climb up, then sled ride across the lake and hike from there. His
lead has drastically shrunk down to 14 kilometers and could shrink more with an
early morning sled ride from turnpoint five by Gaspard Petiot.
