Great to read of the hang gliding interests that were able to
secure Sheets Airfield. The time is right to secure the local airport here in
Leakey, (lay'-key), Texas.

It is for sale with two houses, hangars, 110ac that is west of the river. All
this is under Agricultural tax rate, which could be continued. Several lots
could be sold that have runway frontage.

I built a decent bunny hill/ridge in the adjacent fields that are a part. All
the infield is privately owned, not part of the easement. The county only has an
easement to use the entry road, tie down area, and runway 15/33. The county and
TxDOT are responsible for upkeep on that easement.

Leakey is going through some growth these days. Sidewalks and a new street on
hwy 83 from one end of town to the other and also on E to W hwy 337. And, a new
city wide central sewer system near completion is attracting investors. In the
past, businesses along 83 could only grow to a point where things backed up.

I assure you, this is not as much personal as it is love of the sport and to
secure future sites to preserve Hang Gliding. You know best how strategic this
area is.
