We all were ground skimming with no mountain flights yet. I showed
up at the beach with my own design wing and it was a gathering ground for the
east coast pilots. After all, the Wright Brothers chose it for soaring their
glider before they added a motor. Their longest flight was 9 min 45 sec!

Tom Peghiny ran the Sky Sports hang glider company along with Terry Sweeny. They
made the Bobcat, Lark, Kestrel, Sirocco and Merlin wings. Glider's back then
weighed 40 lbs and we're rough as nails.
