True, about half the pilots were over 50. Keep in mind that's when the kids are
older and you have a bit more disposable income. But I think the fact that 30%
were in their 20's and 30's was very encouraging.

We had a bunch from Lookout, and several who were trained by Bart and Tiki in
Wharton, Texas, even if they lived elsewhere. Both those schools have a strong
social, club-like atmosphere. The Lookout bunch were noticeably a cohesive team.
By the way I only recognize one under-40 from Quest.

There is a real eagerness for more mentoring at this Hang 3, beginning XC level.
The fact that we had 53 participants, many of whom who came long distances,
speaks for itself. In addition to bringing in new people, we need more ways to
nurture new pilots in their home areas as they develop their skills and
confidence. The GSSK and the Team Challenge can only do a tiny bit of this.
