The more I think about supine, the more I'm convinced of the many
ways it will help us. Comfort, being able to properly analyse the sky
(absolutely essential for cross country) and effortless landings on wheels.
Thanks to Nic Welbourne for making me aware of, what I think is so close to the
right start.
The picture below is a bit of design fantasy (probably too big/complex).
Developing the harness pictured above for both foot launch (hills), wheeled
takeoff (aerotow) and wheel landings must surely be a game changer for our
sport, making it especially accessible for new pilots (and some experienced
landing-challenged pilots too). It overcomes the fear of foot landings.
Make the wheels fold in (like the Foxtug), allow the pilot to lay near flat for
long glides, minimise a-frame gubbins, it could be great!
