This article was presented to me and I was struck by the
presentation of positivity that comes from an activity. Https://advrider.com/science-says-riding-a-motorcycle-is-good-for-you/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=editorial&utm_content=01_27_2019 It feels to me that adventure sports are taboo in the United States, we are told
to be fearful of doing something that makes us feel so alive. Most Hang Glider
and Paraglider pilots are quick to point out the benefits and amazing experience
of flying and yet our culture in North America seems be so fearful even eager to
celebrate any flaws or inconsistencys. In some instances, our sanity is
questioned, insurance rates are tenfold, some folks distance themselves from
pilots or look at us and then scurry away. In other countries, it seems like pilots are held in high regard and people
gather around to hear stories of flights and other flying related experiences. When we consider target fixation if all we focus on are the negative
experiences, then that is where we end up. I am surprised that there are not more examples, stories and experiences sharing
the greatness of flight. The health benefits, the connections made with
different cultures and our fellow countrymen and women, the advancement of
knowledge spirt of exploration, the personal growth
How can we as a flying community share more positive stories and experiences
centered around flying?
