It is very rare to have a USHPA Regional Director to be turned out by the voter/pilots in his region. Most of the time these guys run unopposed. But Bob Kuczewski, the president of Torrey Hawks, a hang glider advocacy group located near San Diego, ran on a platform criticizing David Jebb, the incumbent and concessioner at Torrey Pines.

Bob had been kicked out of Torrey Pines by David Jebb, so this was personal, as was as representing something of a spilt between the hang gliding and paragliding communities.

I wonder if the USHPA Regional Director will still be banned from Torrey Pines.
