A while back when it was flooding in the Pacific Northwest

You may have heard about the flood damage to Tiger Mt. road and LZ. Last year the bridge over 15-Mile Creek was washed out in November, and we were without vehicle access to launch until mid-summer, when DNR was able to repair the bridge. This year, when the big storm was forecast, Bob Hannah wisely moved the shuttle vehicle across the bridge and parked it uphill from the bridge, figuring if the bridge washed out we could shuttle up to the creek, walk across it and take the other vehicle up the 2 or 3 miles to launch. But ironically, a big log jam upstream from the bridge forced the creek to take a new course, uphill from the bridge, and right under the truck. Who could ever have predicted that?
However, with the truck right in the newly cut stream channel, DNR had to get in there and remove the vehicle before it washed downstream and created a bigger problem. See the attached photos for the undercut truck, and the extraction. It looks like we'll be able to get to launch by the end of this week, once a couple of slides between the bridge and launch have been cleared. I'm not entirely sure how we got such a quick response from DNR, but nobody is complaining, especially since it looks like FEMA will pick up the tab.
