I started flying hang gliders solo when I was fifteen years old, in 2005. But before that I flew many tandems with my father. My father, Blay Snr. broke the European record in 1993 flying 321 km, the first 200 mile flight in Europe. He taught me every thing in this sport
I remember every day after school I use to fly for two hours and practice spot landing or take offs. When I was sixteen I flew a 160 km cross country flight in seven hours, and when I was seventeen years old I flew a 270 km flight from Piedrahita. Last year I started competitions, but I was still in my last year at high school. I tried to study every day after the task or before, which was really hard to do.
In 2007 I lived in England with the Kynaston family, all of them are hang gliders pilots so we all flew every chance possible. My first international competition was in Lanzarote, in the Canary Islands, I came in 3rd . I flew the Preworlds in 2008 in Laragne, France and I came 29th, flying a Laminar.
At the end of 2008 I joined the Moyes family, I have been living with Bill and Molly Moyes in Sydney and working at the Moyes factory. Now I am flying the best glider with the best performance and I can feel the difference.
