Is the USHPA actually encouraging the growth of competition?
The Competition Work Group has a plan. The USHPA has a strategic plan. They are attempting to implement their plan for competition, but it has run into a lot of resistance from the very people that we count on to run competitions. They are quite discouraged by the rules and regulations that are being proposed for competitions. They are thinking about getting out of the running competitions business.
Others have said that they will do competitions, but just ignore the USHPA and not worry about sanctioning (heck even the USHPA President does that).
So could all the efforts of the work group and the executive committee be actually counter productive? Maybe they don't realize that there are actual real world people out here that they have to "partner" with if they want competitions to actually be held.
It would be a terrible injustice if the USHPA and the work group actually killed competition when they were trying (at least I hope that they are trying) to encourage it. Ironic, 'eh?
