What wuffos think that they know
http://ozreport.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15409
I find it pretty amazing that in this day and age, people have a fear of hang gliding on the level of base jumping, skydiving, Russian roulette, spiders, large snakes, and man-eating sharks.
Operating my tandem hang gliding business over water here on the coast of southwest Florida, there are some universal misconceptions which we confront almost daily, and I'm wondering if any of the other tandem operators out there have any input on this. The problem with my location is that we operate directly adjacent to at least 8 different parasailing operations. Everybody knows that, when you go parasailing, you just get strapped in under the canopy, upwards of 3 or even 4 passengers at a time, on their own, and get dragged into the sky, with absolutely no control over their own destinies. Just a dope on a rope.
Scott is looking for other tandem operators to comment.
