"A hang-gliding expedition at the Brazilian Northeast, flying across three states searching for the perfect launch to an eventual record breaking flight, aiming at the Brazilian and South American distance record.
The trip in numbers:
Six pilots, thirteen days, 4,500 km by airplane, 6,500 km by car, six flying days out of thirteen, three flights per pilot above 200 Km.
Nineteen hours airtime per pilot and 840 Km distance flown per pilot, on the final average.
The pilots reached the conclusion that Quixadá, on the state of Ceará, is still the best site, even contending with the fact that after 400 Km flying westward, the pilots eventually reach an area of dense vegetation, mostly thorny bushes, maybe comparable to the mesquite areas in Texas.
To keep flying further than the 400 Km milestone, the pilot needs commitment, reliance on the retrieve, and a bit of luck to avoid landing in hazardous areas."
