The NAM via Dr. Jack's called for for good lift, but the local national weather service forecast was for clouds all night and mostly cloudy all day with a 20% chance of rain. I knew soon enough that the local forecast was wrong, as there were no clouds in the evening and no clouds that night as an orange moon came up over the horizon. It looked like it would be good the next day.

Thick fog in the morning gave way to a blue day but the RUC (again via Dr. jack) was calling for good lift in the afternoon with eastern winds at 8 to 10 knots. It sure looks like that was going to happen, but the clouds were going to be marginal, although they were supposed to appear..

A few distance cu's appeared as we went out to the launch a little before 2 PM. The lift turned out to be weak and we had to launch again, but hanging on this time we waited until the lift turned on at 3 PM and the sky filled up with cu's.

I tried out a Rotor harness (more on this later) which wasn't quite adjusted right, so I did pushups on the control bar for an hour and a half. You've got to be real comfortable to have a good feel for the air, but I managed anyway.

The forecasts look good going ahead with showers and thunderstorms, but if today was any indication they won't appear.
